We had the most wonderful experience at Il Mercato for supper. The food was out standing. I got the snow crab house made tortellini and the pasta was freshly made and perfectly cooked. The flavours were incredible! Such of the best pasta I've ever had. I can't wait to come back and try some of the other menu items.

Busy restaurant with a great energy. Staff were friendly with great service. Started with house made bread with oil & Balsamic, bread was really nice. Appetizer we shared the Stuzzichini. It’s like a combination of a few appies, we really enjoyed it. I had the lamb rack, and wife had the Tagliatelle con Capesante, she enjoyed the scallops but did find the pasta uninspiring, the lamb was very well done. We shared the Key lime tart and the Zuccotto. The Zuccotto was very nice but the Key lime tart was amazing. Very nice meal would recommend

Il Mercato is one restaurant in this city that I know that I will never leave disappointed. Always make a reservation to avoid disappointment - it is THAT popular. Tried, tested and true, there is nothing on their menu that they haven't mastered. The handmade ravioli has been on the menu since the restaurant first opened and is STILL one of the most popular dishes on the menu... for good reason - it is perfection in a bowl! The staff are wonderful - attentive, friendly and always quick to make suggestions when asked. The extensive wine list is always a treat to try wines we may not be able to have elsewhere. We dine here with friends and family and it is always a win. I still request the truffle carbonara spaghetti which isn't always on the menu but is that honest to goodness soul food I crave here. We always start planning our next visit when we are here because we know we need to plan ahead - ha ha!

If you’re on the hunt for an Italian restaurant with a cozy vibe and foolproof delicious food, look no further! We went for a simple combo—just a glass of wine and spaghetti—and it did not disappoint. Even the complimentary bread was so good we almost filled up before the main course! The only catch? Climbing the stairs to the second floor felt like a mini workout. Totally worth it, though!

Il Mercato exceeded all my expectations The food was absolutely delicious – the scallops were perfectly cooked, creamy, and full of flavor. Every bite was a delight! To top it off, the dessert was the perfect way to celebrate such a wonderful meal. The atmosphere and service were equally impressive, making the entire experience truly memorable. I can’t wait to come backHighly recommend for anyone looking for an amazing dining experience.

My partner and I always come for special occasions and have a wonderful experience. The service is always great, we’ve had a couple great servers who have been very personable and make the experience that much better, and the food is amazing. I am celiac (needing gluten free), and I always appreciate when the complimentary gluten free focaccia is brought to the table, and it’s delicious! I also am obsessed with their chicken penne pasta, highly recommend giving it a try if you haven’t!

Had a wonderful dining experience at Il Mercato! The ambience was excellent and the service was top-notch. The complimentary bread was really good. As an appetizer, we ordered the Bruschetta, which was mind-blowing — definitely a must-try! For the main course, we tried the Pork Tenderloin, Penne roasted chicken, and Alfredo Chicken (kids' portion). Absolutely loved the pork tenderloin, especially with its amazing creamy sauce. Every dish was absolutely delicious. We loved it. There was a complimentary ice cream as a birthday treat. Overall, an excellent experience with great food, outstanding service, and a fantastic atmosphere. Highly recommended!

This food at this restaurant is SO good!! The restaurant is a little bit loud, but you are so focussed on how delicious the food is that you forget about that. And all the staff are very friendly, professional and attentive. Our family eats at many restaurants in this city and we as a family all agree that this is the best restaurant in Halifax!
